Bandera City Park is a downtown day-use park with Medina River frontage, broad lawns, picnic facilities, fishing, and two reservable pavilions.
The city-managed park offers swimming and wading when conditions permit, bank fishing, barbecue pits, equestrian trails, picnic space, and two pavilions for rent. Standing city-code hours are 8:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Animals must remain attended and leashed, vehicles belong in designated areas, and the lower level is a no-parking zone.
A July 17, 2026 report said vehicle entrances were closed after flooding while pedestrian access remained with caution. Check the city page and posted gate notices for a newer status.
Weekdays are generally free. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from Easter through Labor Day have seasonal fees, with published discounts and exemptions requiring identification. Special-event prices may differ.
Enter only from the public bank, stay more than 25 feet above or below the dam, and do not use the private south bank. Check flow and water-quality conditions first.
