Mac & Ernie’s is a weekend-only Tarpley restaurant known for changing menus, Hill Country ingredients, and a relaxed roadside setting.
The reviewed menu ranges from small lunch items to dinner entrees and features cabrito, red deer, catfish, shrimp, quail, lamb, steaks, and rotating specials. Friday and Saturday include lunch and dinner service; Sunday is lunch only. Indoor seating is first come, first served, while parties of eight or more may reserve patio seating.
Regular hours are Friday and Saturday 11:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. and 5:00–9:00 p.m., plus Sunday 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. It closes Monday–Thursday.
